EDUCATION

Shiksha Ki Aur
Through our #ShikshaKiAur education support programs, we strive to reach out to the most marginalized children of India and enable their access to education, health and protection. Along with quality education, we also facilitate sessions on basic education, alternative and values education, life skills and life goals, child rights, the effects of drug abuse, protection from sexual abuse, primary health care and nutrition.
We provide children with school starter kits, which include uniforms, books, school bags, and other materials they may need to starttheir journey into education. The overarching goal is to ensure education for all. We also seek to link the families of these children with sustainable livelihoods so that household economic security is achieved.
Our vision is clear: Every child in India, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. #ShikshaKiAur is not just a program—it’s a movement toward dignity, equity, and long-term change.
Back to School
These statistics underscore a critical issue surrounding menstruation awareness among adolescent girls in government schools. Shockingly, 71% of girls aged 13-16 are unaware of menstruation until they experience their first period, highlighting a profound lack of education on this natural process. This gap in knowledge contributes to a pervasive stigma that results in girls missing an average of 65 to 78 days of school per year due to period shame. Tragically, approximately 20% of these girls end up dropping out of school permanently due to the stigma associated with menstruation. Addressing this issue requires comprehensive efforts to provide menstrual hygiene education, promote awareness, and ensure access to sanitary products ,thus enabling girls to attend school with out fear or shame.
In our #BackToSchool program we Distribute Menstrual Hygiene kit in Gov. school to ensure girls receive education and menstrual hygiene. In rural India, 1 in 5 girls quit school due to menstruation, and 57.2% still use cloth. We're dedicated to ending period poverty through education and support. Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives.
HEALTH CARE

India's healthcare system, while having made notable progress in recent years, still grapples with deep-rooted challenges that hinder its effectiveness and reach. A major issue is access and equity— more than 65% of India’s population resides in rural areas, yet only about 20% of the healthcare infrastructure is available there, creating a significant urban-rural divide. Affordability further compounds the problem; despite various government schemes, out-of-pocket medical expenses remain among the highest globally, pushing many families into poverty. Infrastructure gaps persist across the country, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where there is a pronounced shortage of doctors, nurses, hospital beds, and diagnostic facilities. Moreover, preventive care, including health education, nutrition, and disease prevention, is often neglected, resulting in avoidable illnesses and higher healthcare costs in the long term. The growing mental health crisis adds another layer of complexity—despite increasing awareness, societal stigma and inadequate services continue to prevent many individuals from accessing the help they need.
Cancer Care
A child is diagnosed with cancer every 11 minutes, amounting to nearly 75,000 children each year. Malnutrition significantly impacts their survival rates. Studies indicate that malnourished child with cancer face higher treatment-related complications, increased infection rates, and lower overall survival rates compared to well-nourished patients.
Studies indicate that 37% of children diagnosed with cancer are malnourished. A well-nourished child has an 86% chance of completing treatment and surviving cancer, highlighting the critical role of proper nutrition in improving treatment outcomes and survival rates.
We as an organisation we provide the #HealingPlateKit is a comprehensive monthly nutrition package designed to support the health and well-being of children and their families. The kit includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods to ensure a balanced diet, including grains, pulses, dry fruits and seeds, and protein powder. The Healing Plate Kit ensures that children and their families receive the necessary nutrients to support their overall health and well-being.
Emergency Cases
The HOPE Foundation is actively working to address emergency child support cases across India, ensuring that children in critical situations receive timely and life-saving help. Whether it's a case of severe malnutrition, a sudden illness like dengue or pneumonia, or the need for urgent surgeries and hospitalization, HOPE steps in to bridge the gap for families who cannot afford such care. Recognizing the vulnerability of children from low-income backgrounds, the foundation mobilizes resources swiftly to cover medical expenses, arrange transport, and coordinate with hospitals for immediate treatment. Beyond health emergencies, HOPE also responds to crises involving neglect, abuse, or abandonment by providing emotional support, and legal aid to protect and rehabilitate affected children. Working in collaboration with local partners, healthcare professionals, and communities, HOPE is building a robust emergency response system. Through awareness campaigns and accessible support channels, the foundation strives to ensure that no child is left without help during their most critical moments—because every child deserves a chance to survive, heal, and thrive.
LIVELIHOOD
In India, over 90% of the workforce is engaged in the informal sector, with little to no job security, social protection, or access to skill development. Despite economic growth, millions remain trapped in cycles of underemployment, seasonal labour, low wages, and exploitation, especially among women, youth, rural populations, and marginalized communities. The pandemic worsened the situation, pushing over 230 million Indians into poverty, many of whom are still struggling to rebuild their livelihoods.
At HOPE Foundation, we recognize that dignified, sustainable livelihoods are the backbone of true development. We work to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by enabling individuals to gain meaningful, income-generating skills and access to resources. Our livelihood initiatives focus on skill development, micro-enterprise support, women’s self-help groups, digital literacy, market linkage, and job placement assistance.
As an NGO, our role is not just to provide charity — but to empower. Through strategic partnerships, community mobilization, and capacity building, we help people reclaim control over their economic lives. We also advocate for fair wages, safe working conditions, and inclusion of excluded groups like persons with disabilities, transgender individuals, and migrant workers.
HOPE Foundation believes that when people earn with dignity, they not only transform their families but also uplift their entire communities. Whether it's a woman starting her tailoring unit, a youth placed in a formal job, or a farmer switching to organic methods — every success story is a brick in the foundation of a stronger, more resilient India.

Other Activity
Animal Care
At HOPE Foundation, we believe that compassion should extend to all living beings — not just humans. Animals, especially strays, often suffer silently due to neglect, abuse, hunger, injury, or abandonment. India is home to over 35 million stray dogs and an estimated 9 million stray cattle, many of whom live in hazardous conditions, exposed to disease, starvation, road accidents, and cruelty. The lack of organized systems for their care makes this a pressing yet often ignored issue.
Our Animal Care initiative is rooted in the belief that every life matter. We work actively to feed stray animals daily, rescue those in distress, and provide medical support, including vaccination. Collaborating with local veterinarians, animal lovers, shelters, and volunteers, we ensure that urgent cases get timely treatment.
Awareness and empathy are at the core of our long-term strategy. We conduct sensitization programs in schools, colleges, and communities to foster compassion for animals, reduce incidents of cruelty, and promote responsible pet ownership. These workshops teach children the importance of respecting animals and introduce practical actions they can take to help.
With every act of care, we strive to create a world where humans and animals coexist in harmony.
Road Safety
India has one of the highest rates of road traffic accidents in the world. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, over 1.68 lakh people lost their lives and over 4.4 lakh were injured in road crashes in 2022 alone — that’s nearly one death every three minutes. What’s more alarming is that 70% of these victims are in the productive age group of 18–45, and many of these accidents are preventable through simple measures like wearing helmets, using seatbelts, following traffic rules, and better pedestrian infrastructure.
At HOPE Foundation, we view road safety not just as a legal issue, but as a human and community concern. Every accident impacts not just individuals, but entire families — emotionally, financially, and socially. Our Road Safety Awareness Program focuses on education, behaviour change, and advocacy.
We work with college students, daily commuters, auto drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to spread awareness about responsible behaviour on roads. Our initiatives include interactive sessions, helmet distribution, and first-aid training. We also partner with local traffic police to organize road safety drives and commemorate events like National Road Safety Week with impactful public campaigns.
A key part of our effort is educating young minds about traffic rules, safe crossing practices, and the importance of seatbelts and helmets.
Orphanage
Children without parental care are among the most vulnerable and underserved groups in India. According to UNICEF, there are over 29.6 million orphaned and abandoned children in the country. While some are taken in by registered orphanages or child care institutions, many more remain in informal, unsupported environments. These children often face not only a lack of material support but also emotional neglect, social stigma, and limited access to quality education and healthcare.
At HOPE Foundation, we believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, nurturing environment with access to opportunity, affection, and hope. Our Orphanage Support program is built around the idea of restoring childhood. We work closely with orphanages to provide daily essentials such as hygiene kits, nutritious food, clothes, educational materials, and healthcare support. We also focus on creating a vibrant emotional environment by conducting regular recreational activities — art and craft sessions, storytelling, music, festivals, and sports — that bring smiles and create memories.
In addition to basic needs, we invest in long-term growth through life-skills training, digital learning programs, and mentorship initiatives. Our volunteers and trainers help children build confidence, learn communication skills, explore their talents, and prepare for future challenges. We also connect older children with career counsellors and vocational guidance so they can make informed decisions about their futures.
Emotional support is a key pillar of our program. Many children in orphanages suffer from trauma, abandonment issues, or low self-esteem. Through regular group counselling, play therapy, and trusted mentorship, we help rebuild their sense of self-worth and trust in others.
Distribution of Dry Ration
Food is a fundamental human right, yet millions of families across India go to bed hungry every night. According to the Global Hunger Index 2023, India ranks 111 out of 125 countries, reflecting the ongoing crisis of food insecurity, especially among children, women, the elderly, and marginalized communities. The COVID-19 pandemic, rising inflation, and recurring climate disasters have only deepened the hunger crisis, leaving countless daily wage workers, migrant families, and vulnerable groups struggling to survive.
At HOPE Foundation, we believe that no one should suffer from hunger, especially when we have the resources and networks to help. Our Dry Ration Distribution program is a lifeline for families during times of hardship. Each ration kit is thoughtfully curated to meet a family's basic nutritional needs and typically includes grains (like rice or wheat), pulses, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and essential spices. Depending on needs and context, we may also add tea, sanitary pads, baby food, or protein supplements.
Our work spans urban slums, rural villages, flood-affected regions, and even hard-to-reach tribal communities. By distributing food swiftly and with dignity. In many cases, our ration support has prevented families from falling into deeper poverty or resorting to unsafe coping mechanisms like child labor or debt.
Beyond just providing food, we also create awareness around nutrition, hygiene, and smart storage practices, especially for mothers and caregivers. We partner with local self-help groups and grassroots volunteers to ensure last-mile delivery and real-time need assessments.
Tree Plantation
At HOPE Foundation, we believe that planting trees is one of the simplest yet most powerful actions we can take to protect our planet. Trees are not just greenery — they are life-givers. A single mature tree absorbs approximately 21 kilograms of carbon dioxide each year and produces enough oxygen to sustain two people, making it a powerful natural ally in reducing pollution and global warming.
India is facing a serious environmental challenge. According to the Forest Survey of India (2021), although there has been a marginal rise in total forest cover, green spaces in urban areas are shrinking rapidly due to unplanned development. Additionally, India ranks as the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases globally, with hazardous air conditions becoming the norm in many parts of the country, especially during winter.
Through our Tree Plantation Campaigns, HOPE Foundation is committed to restoring ecological balance, promoting biodiversity, and improving the quality of life across both urban and rural landscapes. We focus on planting native, climate-resilient, and fruit-bearing trees in community parks, barren lands, roadside strips, and public spaces. Our efforts don’t end at planting — we ensure the long-term survival of each sapling through consistent care, monitoring, and by engaging local communities in stewardship.
We strongly believe that environmental change begins with people. That’s why we actively involve children, youth, and residents in all our plantation drives. Whether through school eco-clubs, youth volunteers, or village green warriors, we are nurturing a generation that understands and values its relationship with nature. At HOPE Foundation, every tree planted is a promise — to protect the earth, restore balance, and secure a greener tomorrow.
